I need help please, with a christmas ornament project?

I am trying to add a picture to a glass ornament. I want the picture to look smooth.
I need ideas (if anyone has any) on how to accomplish this.
I tried decoupage but the paper bunches up and looks a mess.
Any help is greatly appreciated.........

I would like to have the picture on the outside ...I know you can buy them but I really wanted to try making it myself..

I just saw a clear glass ornament that had a colored picture inside that was printed on a transparency at Kinkos. She cut the picture out in the shape of a circle, rolled it up in a tight tube and inserted it into the hole, then it quickly unrolled by itself when inside. She then painted a snowflake or two and some colored dots on the outside of the ball. It looked very good. I can't find the picture now, but there are endless possibilities with this idea! Someone else said that you could print it on your own color printer too.
